To store and manage documents in d.velop documents, install the d.3 server components. The d.3 server components establish the connection between the user functions, the file server and the database server. The server components are thus responsible for accessing documents.

To use the d.3 server components, install d.3 server. You also require d.3 admin for administrative tasks such as configuring the repository. We recommend installing the components on the same partition that you used for the previous installation.

This is how it works
- Ensure that no users are working with the d.velop software and end the d.velop process manager Windows service.
- Install d.3 server in the same directory that you specified during the installation with d.velop software manager.
- At the end of the installation, enable the option Start d.3 process manager.
- Install d.3 admin in the same directory that you specified during the installation with d.velop software manager.
